Welcome Back to Term 4 at Silkwood!
We hope you all had a restful break and are ready for an exciting Term 4! As we kick things off, a quick reminder that the King’s Birthday Public Holiday falls on Monday, 7th October, and the school will be closed.
This term is packed with meaningful milestones, celebrations, and community events. A highlight for every student will be their Student Exhibitions, where they present their learning journey. Keep an eye out for dates from your child’s Advisor. These exhibitions are a chance for students to reflect on their achievements and set new goals, with parent participation making this moment even more powerful.
Beyond the exhibitions, we have our Transition and Graduation Ceremonies, marking the exciting moves from primary to middle school, middle to senior school, and of course, the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony in early November. These ceremonies celebrate the unique growth and achievements of each student as they reach key moments in their Silkwood journey.
Our Silkwood Community Care Association (SCCA) has some fantastic events lined up this term as well. First, don’t miss the Grandparent’s Day Breakfast, a beautiful opportunity for students to share a special morning with their grandparents. Later in the month, join us for a fun-filled evening at the SCCA Trivia Night, where laughter and friendly competition await! In November, the SCCA Class Carer Thank You Morning Tea is our way of recognising the incredible support of our class carers throughout the year, and the termly SCCA AGM Meeting provides a chance to stay connected and involved in our vibrant school community.
In mid-November, we’ll celebrate student talent at the magical Summer Music Concert, a showcase of musical performances that always leaves us in awe. To close out the term, we’ll have our colourful and lively Summer Water Festival, a joyful celebration of water and the summer season, sending us off into the holidays with smiles and excitement.
We hope you enjoy the long weekend in week 2, and we look forward to seeing you at our many ceremonies and events throughout this vibrant Term 4!
