Introducing the Silkwood School App

The Silkwood School App is developed in partnership with Digistorm Education. It is designed to give parents & carers (of enrolled students), and our school team, a seamless environment with ready access to important information about events and daily activities at Silkwood. The Silkwood App provides an easy way to access content and communication from Silkwood School. 

Key features:

The Home Screen
The home screen provides an overview of the latest notices, absentee notification module, school calendar and school bus information.

Alerts & Notifications
The alerts section provides you with instant push notifications from the school for all of the urgent things that you need to know immediately. Push notifications can be configured via the settings tab for each year level, advisory level, music and after school activity notices.

Newsletter
Access the most recent Silkwood School newsletter right in the palm of your hand! All the most recent issues of our school newsletter are at your fingertips, simply by clicking on the date of the newsletter that you are looking for!

Calendar
The school calendar contains details on events and key dates at school. Click on the event to see further details and information or search for an event. The calendar can also be used to add key event dates directly to your device’s calendar.

Events
The events button will take you directly to a detailed list of upcoming events and important dates outlined on our website.

Absentee:
Message the school directly from the Silkwood App to notify us of your child's absence.

School Bus
For those families who are already using, or interested in using our school bus service, this area is for you. Linked to the most up to date information regarding bus timetables, routes and pricing.

After School Activities
Here you will find all the information you need to book an after school activity for your child, including a termly timetable of activities on offer and contact details for each of the providers.

Selecting Your Subscription Settings

We have updated our School App user subscription settings; this means you will no longer need to re-subscribe to your child's year level at the beginning of each year. 

To ensure you hear from us correctly, please jump into the School App settings and navigate to subscriptions, then select your child/children's current year level or specialist advisory. We recommend that families with children in a specialist advisory such as STEM, Sports or Learning Enrichment also subscribe to their generic year-level channel.

The School will automatically roll over these groups each year, similar to how we do with our Family Facebook Groups. We hope this change makes it easier for you to stay connected with Silkwood School.  

To summarise, the steps to subscribe are:

• Open the App and select Settings
• Select Subscriptions
• Select Advisory
• De-select the year-level or specialist advisories you no longer need to hear from (highlighted in dark blue)
• Select '+' on your child's current year level or specialist advisory to subscribe

After completing these steps, you are all set and ready to hear from us!

If you exit a specialist advisory and do not update your subscription settings, please be aware you will continue to receive communications no longer relevant to your child's enrolment.
